Marshes Lighthouse
The Town of Manteo dedicated the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse on Saturday, September 25, 2004. The lighthouse is on the Manteo waterfront, on the east side of Roanoke Island.
The Roanoke Marshes Light is an exterior reconstruction of the square cottage-style screw-pile lighthouse which stood at the southern entrance to Croatan Sound, near Wanchese. The new Roanoke Marshes Light houses historical and educational activities under the auspices of the North Carolina Maritime Museum.
The lighthouse has become one of the most popular wedding ceremony sites on the Outer Banks. Brides love the quaint setting and exchanging their vows standing over the water. A $250 ceremony fee is required to book the Lighthouse. Receptions are not allowed at the Light House but our company has two reception locations near by.
